Pros and Cons
Getting Started with Double Bonus Spin Roulette Game
You’ll be seeing colors with the Double Bonus Spin Roulette game by IGT. This variant of the hit online roulette casino game includes both red and black, as well as green and yellow. While the first three colors are typical, the yellow is associated with the bonus bet in this feature-filled game – plus that pocket is larger than others too, and lands 1.5 times more often.

How the Game is Designed
Overall, the game design for this variant of roulette is average at best. It focuses mainly on the roulette wheel and includes the betting layout plus racetrack around the screen. While most of the space is used up with the interface, the layout itself is rather small and squished together.
Many of the numbers on the racetrack begin to look a little blurry because of the sizing.
We were disappointed to see that the animation for the spinning wheel and the rolling ball is limited. In Double Bonus Spin Roulette, the ball only spins around twice, with the ball seemingly slowing down out of nowhere and dropping into the pocket. While we initially put this down to the turbo speed option, this was not the cause as it sticks to the same length (we recommend not using turbo as it looks very choppy).
The wheel is a big part of the entertainment factor in roulette games, which is why we were bothered by its lackluster inclusion. IGT dropped the ball when they designed this game, all the focus is on the wheel, but other non-essential components dwarf it.
Hopefully, an update comes to the game soon enough.
Roulette Game Sounds and Music
The quality of the sound effects is much like the graphics – average. Placing a bet sounds more like dropping coins into a bucket, and the spinning wheel and ball don’t feel like (or sound like) the real thing.
One annoying feature for us was when the ball is landing in a pocket; it always bounces back and forth between two pockets. Sure, this was done to simulate the unknown and delay the winning number – but the sound effect is annoying after a while, and from a physics point of view, it just doesn’t look right.
While we appreciate that the sound effects in casino table games like this one are not the be-all-end-all, they do have a big part to play in the replayability.
The main feature in the Double Bonus Spin Roulette game is that it offers players the traditional bets, with the bonus of a wider yellow pocket. If the roulette ball lands in this yellow pocket, players are granted a bonus of two free spins and an instant cash prize.
Bonus pocket pays out at 12 to 1 if you bet on this outcome. However, if the ball lands in yellow (regardless of you betting on it), all of your bets will stand and qualify for the free spin on the bonus wheel. This bonus round replaces the standard wheel with a two-wheel version.
These rings spin independently, with the ball determining the inner ring, and the outer ring is determined by what the outer pocket is that aligns with the ball.
Traditional standard roulette bets can be placed, i.e., all the inside and outside bets. There are also a host of neighbor bets that can be placed with ease through the racetrack.
Lastly, IGT has included advanced bets in this variant of roulette, allowing multiple bets to be placed with a quick and easy single click. They can be turned off in the options for a more classic ‘figure it out yourself’ approach; however, these bets include:
- Red splits – splits everywhere where two adjacent red squares share a side
- Black splits – splits where two adjacent black squares share a side
- Red dragon – straight and split bets on the trail of red squares
- Black dragon – straight and split bets on the trail of black squares
Players can also save their betting patterns for easy reference to come back to in the future.
Our Say on Double Bonus Spin Roulette
If you are looking for a roulette variant with a great bonus feature, this will be a great option. Although the gameplay of the feature is rewarding and enjoyable, the overall game design is a big let down. For players who are bothered by the aesthetics, there are better games to play. Whereas if you focus just on the win potential, then you will enjoy IGT’s Double Bonus Spin Roulette.
