Getting Started with Pulsar Slot
RealTime Gaming has gone galactic, with this star-destroying slot, which offers players a unique way to play across 20 pay lines on a 3×5 game grid. For players getting started with this mesmerizing space slot, the objective is to chain together cascading wins through some good ol’ star-destroying action.
This game opens players up to a universe of fun through its alternative neutron star feature. While Pulsar does not have jackpots, there is still a chance for players to score a big win with a top available win of 150 times your bet.
You will want to learn more about the cascading explosive wins feature in Pulsar, so continue reading and check out the MobileCasinoParty Pulsar slot review, where we unblur the lines of this innovative galactic slot by RealTime Gaming.
How the Game is Designed
The first thing you will notice when you play Pulsar is that the game is designed and set out a little differently to most games. While it is a five-reel slot, the playing area feels more like a grid.
You will have realized by now that this game has a space theme, which places the game at the center of a universe with its cosmic design and planets representing the slot symbols.
With no jackpots or bonus rounds in this slot, it is up to the basic game itself to keep players entertained. Playing Pulsar will have players looking for eight different symbols, it can be hard to know which symbols or planets are the best as they do not appear to have a logical hierarchy, however, from lowest to highest win payout there is:
- Small brown planet
- Small exploding planet
- Small glowing aquamarine planet
- Small molten lava planet
- Large blue planet with rings (like Saturn)
- Large brownish planet (like Jupiter)
The last design aspect that you need to know is the neutron stars, these are four colored stars (green, blue, pink, and red), with each star having a number between one to three. Take note of these stars as they’re essential – we will explain this in our special features recap.
Slot Game Sounds and Music
Look, the music behind Pulsar is electric – or maybe we should say electro?
It sounds like a top techno dance track and has quite a decent length to it before it loops over. At one point, we forgot that it was part of the game and thought someone had left music playing – the music is excellent, certainly one of our all-time faves.
The sound effects give that eerie space vibe, sounding like alien ships and lasers. So, overall, the music and sound effects behind Pulsar are amazing. Even the neutron star explosions sound great without being too distracting, which makes the game playable for very long periods.
10/10 from us here at MobileCasinoParty.
Pulsar is very simple, while also being somewhat confusing, as odd as this sounds. The game has no wilds or scatters to collect, just the one unique feature – called the neutron stars cascading wins feature, which itself can be confusing.
These four special exploding neutron stars are the green, blue, pink, and red symbols that have a number inside them. These stars can appear at any position on the grid, and the number inside will decrease by one for each subsequent spin you make when the star counter reaches zero the star explodes and replace the symbols around it with a random symbol.
Now, these colored stars have their own blast radius, and the blast itself can replace neutron stars so they can have a somewhat negative impact on your game. These blast patterns are:
- Green stars affect one position to the left and right
- Blue star affects one position above and below
- Pink star affects each of the four adjacent sides, i.e., the green and blue blast together
- Red star affects the four adjacent corners, i.e., in a 3×3 grid this would be the spots not affected by the pink star blast
It may sound confusing, but it is reasonably straightforward once you wrap your head around the neutron stars. There is a possibility that the blasts score you cascading wins if the symbols that replace the blasts create a winning combination the payout is awarded, and the symbols are replaced again. This continues until a winning combination is not awarded.
Our Say on Pulsar Slot
At first, we were a little confused by this slot, mostly because it was hard to remember which planets were linked to the more significant wins, but once you get familiar with the symbols, this slot is a lot of fun. Even with the absence of jackpots, we found ourselves enjoying the game and picking up some decent flat rate wins, all from a lowly bet of $2 per spin too!
The neutron star feature is excellent, and it gets you pumped when you rally off a couple of cascading wins to go with your neutron explosion. While we would have liked to see a bonus round or some free spins feature with a little less rng, Pulsar provides great entertainment in its current form.
Overall, we were most impressed with the game sounds and background music. These sounds were selected perfectly and helped overall as a slot without many features can become stale, especially with repetitive music, so, well done to the devs at RealTime Gaming!
We say – check Pulsar and its cascading neutron star feature out sooner than later!
