How the Game is Designed

On first look at The Wild Life slot, you will notice that the game has a different art design to the usual slot games. Its a mix between a cartoon theme with its dark outlines and watercolor paintings.

We loved the visual design as it helps to blend in with the cliche African savanna sunset that is always overdone in these Africa-themed games.

The background and design of the reels are relatively average compared to the rest of the game. Plenty of blank space is left throughout the interface, and given the shortfalls of the interface, we can’t see why IGT designed the game this way.

There are only three buttons on this slot:

• Total bet – allows players to click and choose their total bet amount
• Spin – begins a single spin of the reels

The base game is packed with iconic animal symbols and the typical slot game icons to match up for rewards, including:

Slot Game Sounds and Music

While this game lacks the background music of other slot games, it does include an excellent selection of game sounds and music while the reels are spinning.

Although, in saying that in the background, you can hear crickets chirping, but the sound levels of this are very, very quiet – so unless you have a keen ear, you will likely not even notice it!

Think African drums and wind instruments, even the sound effects of the reels have an Africa vibe to them with each click of the wheel sounding like sticks.

When you match up wins with the wild symbols, the music kicks up a notch with an exciting climax of drums.

Overall, the audio for this game was a little disappointing, to say the least.

Special Features

The Wild Life slot doesn’t have a ton of special features to enjoy. Instead, opting for more streamlined ‘spins for the wins’ sense of gameplay. 

This game offers players scatter gameplay through its expanding wilds and free spins, and you can find out a little more about each of these below.

Free Spins Feature

The free spins bonus feature is triggered by landing three, four, or five of the Africa scatter symbols. You will receive up to 20 free spins for the maximum number of scatters:

• Three symbols award ten free spins
• Four symbols award 15 free spins
• Five symbols award 20 free spins

These symbols can also be found anywhere on the reels during the bonus and will award an additional two spins.

Expanding Wilds Feature

In this game, you might come across the king of Africa – the lion king.

The wild symbol features a pouncing lion and may appear on reels two, three, or four. These are expanding wilds, though, and will substitute the entire reel into the wild (except for the Africa scatter).
