How the Game is Designed

Taking a more modern approach to the game design, Red Rake Gaming has created a great looking blackjack table and game, to go with the more hands-on nature of this title. The felt is blue, and there is plenty of information spread throughout the table. However, surprisingly the layout is not too cluttered – especially considering the option to play four hands.

One aspect of the game design that we were not fans of was the player interface, which felt rather clunky and oversized. All of the buttons appeared larger than they probably needed to be as well as including a large blue bar joining behind all of the buttons and covering some of the table edges.

There is also background music played during gameplay, which is subtle and adds to the table’s casino atmosphere.

Special Features

This game is played with a shoe which consists of eight decks and a few unique features to twist this variant from the standard blackjack games. In Blackjack Atlantic City, the dealer must stand on both hard and soft 17 (most games the dealer hits on soft 17), and players can double down after splitting. 

Players can split once per hand as well as have the option to surrender after checking their first two cards, therefore removing the hand from the game and recovering half of the bet.

Red Rake Gaming’s Blackjack Atlantic City allows the play of four hands with bets ranging from as low as $0.20 and up to $50 per hand. A blackjack pays 3:2 as most games do, and the insurance pays 2:1. What is better is that on a tie, the player bet is a push and returns their stake.

There are options to make side bets in this variation of blackjack, being the 21+3 and the pair’s options. The 21+3 side bet includes:

• Suited three of a kind – 100:1
• Straight flush – 40:1
• Three of a kind – 30:1
• Straight – 10:1
• Flush – 5:1

The pair’s side bet includes:

• Perfect pair – 25:1
• Colored pair – 12:1
• Mixed pair – 6:1
