Regulatory Structure

Important distinction: The DCP regulates the online platforms — including those operated by tribal entities. It does NOT regulate the physical tribal casinos. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino are regulated at the federal level by the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), with oversight shared by each tribe’s gaming commission pursuant to tribal-state gaming compacts.
